Nike x International Women's Day

Nike Run Club - London's Fastest

13 August 2017 was all about London’s Fastest, hosted by Nike at the Tate Modern.

Nike Run Club invited runners to form their own crews and take on a 5K in Central London which started and finished in the Tate Modern.

Nike Performance Stylist Sessions at Nike Town London

Many of you have either heard of or experienced Topshop’s Personal Shopping; well Nike has launched a personal shopping experience for women at its flagship store (Nike Town London) for a limited time. Between 15 December 2015 and 06 January 2016 an appointment for a Nike Performance Stylist Session can be made, where you can be advised by one of Nike’s stylists as to the latest wear to suit your fitness, fashion and running needs.

#WeRunLDN - Nike Women’s 10k

The longest day of the year (21 June 2015), 10,000 girls (a few guys too!), a 10k distance run.

1Rebel

I got the opportunity to check out 1Rebel via Nike Women. 1Rebel is one of the latest boutique fitness establishments to arrive in London, having opened its first studio in January 2015 at St. Mary's Axe (City of London). Another studio is due to open at Broadgate, City of London soon. Like Barry's Bootcamp it does away with subscriptions and memberships; all classes are pay-as-you-go.

Tighten and Tone: Ellie Goulding x N+TC

I received an email invite by Nike Women to attend the launch of Ellie Goulding’s Tighten and Tone N+TC workout on 03 March 2015. It was last minute (i got the email maybe 18 hours before the event) and I wasn't even sure if I was going to make it because of work; nevertheless I RSVP'd for myself and a friend and hoped I would make the launch.....

NTC Week 2015

Nike hosted their 3rd NTC Week, a series of special workouts designed to give women a boost at a time when most people would be slacking on or breaking their fitness resolutions. You get an opportunity to train with experts, try something different from your usual regime and meet like-minded women.

The World Cup well under way….for the next 3 ½ weeks international football will dominate conversation, the media, and the emotions of many men and women, praying and hoping that their country will win!

In the build up to the World Cup, there has been a lot controversy – the people of Brazil have expressed their discontent at the amount of money that the Government has spent of the international football tournament by hosting several protests and strikes. Qatar continues to be scrutinised amidst allegations of bribery of FIFA officials and corruption. This has given food for thought as to who the actual winners and losers are of the World Cup…..

There has also been a lot of hype too. Nike recently hosted a week of football related events at the Old Sorting Office in Holborn. Their campaign? #RiskEverything:

Nike Free FlyKnit+

So last month*, I got to try out one of the latest Nike Running Trainers, the Free FlyKnit+

Fuel Your Summer

Last Thursday I and a few of my training buddies attended a roller disco hosted at Kings Cross hosted by Nike and Urban Junkies:

We Own The Night

On 10 April 2013, I signed up for a We Own the Night (WOTN) – a 10km run for women, hosted by Nike and Elle magazine in the East End of London.

I signed up to this run with the gentle nudge and encouragement of my fellow fitness darlings (Rachel, Jo, Ogechi, Nkeiruka, Nneka to name a few!). Basically this time last year…..in fact as recently as December 2012, my position as to running/jogging was “I do not run”. No ifs no buts, just no. The thought of running/jogging longer than a minute filled me with dread! However part of my goals for 2013 was to increase my cardio and fitness – this included taking up jogging. After all it was about time that I started challenging myself……..

Nike Training Club

You may have noticed a few posts on my blog regarding Nike and their special events. I have actually (and weirdly) realised that I’ve not really explained what Nike Training Club (NTC) is……..

I wanted to take this opportunity to write about NTC and how I got involved in it, especially as we are fast approaching March (eek!) and those goals/resolutions that you may have truly started to flounder!

So....................

What is Nike Training Club?

Well this was taken from their Facebook page:

Nike Training Club UK is a women’s fitness community offering up the expertise, inspiration and motivation for you to make yourself whatever you want to be.

The Temptation of Nike

This is going to sound weird, but I go to my local Nike store 3 times a week…..

I go there to work out as they provide Nike Training Club classes as well as a yoga class. They have some really decent clothes, not only for exercise but also for casual wear.

I’m usually a good girl – I look but don’t touch unless I really, really, really need/want something. But when Nike have their sales*, they put out a couple of gems and resistance becomes futile:

Women's Nike Free TR Fit 2 - Nike (duh!)
Original Price - £80
Sale Price - £40

I succumbed to temptation on Monday without so much as a second thought. The trainers were originally £80 but were on sale for £40. I had been looking for a spare pair of work out trainers and these just happened to be at a right price in the right colour. So badly I wanted that when I was told that they had only a size 6.5 (US 9) I still tried them on – and they actually fitted well (despite being half a size smaller)!

These trainers were meant to be mine.

Gold Digging T-Shirt - Nike
Original Price - £16
Sale Price - £8

I love t-shirts in general; I felt that the above t-shirt would be welcome amongst my growing collection. This was also 50% off, so the purchase was all the more sweeter!

There are still quite few tempting pieces to buy from Nike, especially with payday round the corner……

*Sale prices may/can vary from shop to shop

Nike Training Club Live 07.07.2012

Hi Readers!

Over the weekend I attended the first ever Nike Training Club (NTC) Live Festival, which took place at the Old Billingsgate Market in Central London. As you may have read from my previous posts here and here, I am quite a fan of NTC!

It was a free (yep, FREE!) event, but entry could only be earned by clocking up minutes attending NTC classes and/or doing the workouts from Nike’s NTC app on iTunes. Again the classes and the app are free!

The event consisted of free classes (NTC and Yoga), manicures by Wah Nails, massages, 1on1 Q&A with personal trainers, nutritional advice and an opportunity to try out the new Nike Lunar Hyperworkout+ trainers. There was a chance to win a pair, but I didn’t win :¬(. I cannot lie, the trainers are pricey (from £170, ouch), but they are amazing! They can track your movements; when synced with your workout app, you can earn points and compete with other people.

Here are a few pics* from the day (taken on my Samsung Galaxy SII):

I didn’t get a manicure (boo!) but I enjoyed the classes, got lots of useful information to improve my workouts & nutrition, and got to try out those amazing trainers. The massage was heavenly……

The Festival finished with a live PA from Katy B, who I really like!

I was so happy to see her perform, and for free especially as she was due to perform at the Somerset House in Central London on 07/08 July 2012! Her live singing was great, as was her DJ and band. She is an avid supporter of NTC and regularly does the workouts with one of the Sonja, one of the Nike Master Trainers.

I think her album Katy on a Mission is absolutely brilliant and it is actually one of my favourite albums.

All in all, it was a great event; it was great being rewarded for all the workouts that I do! I look forward to next year’s festival x

**Nike have recently posted a video about NTC Live:

I actually appear for a split second within the first 4 seconds of the video starting....I'm the girl in the white Nike top jumping up for a photo (my split second of fame!)

*These pics are taken by me, but if you want to see more photos or want further info about NTC, you can check out NTC facebook page here

Nike Free Advantage Trainers & Training Super Natural

Hi guys!

I hope you all had a great Easter…..this week has been really busy since the Easter Break is over!

Today, I received a pair of Nike Free Advantage Trainers in the post, which I have been excited about. Why was I excited? Because I won them!

Yep, on 05 April 2012 I took part in another Nike NTC event – Train Super Natural. This took place at Westfield, White City in front of ALL the shoppers! Katy B (UK Artist - i LOVE her album, On a Mission - check it out!) was also present; she didn’t sing, but she took part in the work out. Nike was giving away 10 pairs of their newest trainers to the girls who worked out the hardest and I was one of the lucky winners! Just as well, I was seriously considering buying a new pair of trainers and a sale had just started. I loved the energy; it was great seeing so many girls taking part.

Here are few pics of the event (the pics were taken by me):

DJ Neev from Kiss 100fm and Katy B

Katy B is soooooo little in real life!

The Nike Master Trainers - they went in HARD!

You can also check out a video of the evening here; it includes a running event that Nike also hosted.

I don't think I have ever been so excited about fitness! i love it!

Not an Ordinary Wednesday and a Maxi Skirt

March already?! How time is flying by......even with an extra day in the year!

Yesterday I took part in a special Nike event at the Southbank in Central London. I (along with about 130 ladies) took part in a workout on the London Eye. Yep, as I viewed the amazing London skyline in a capsule, I was struggling with arm dips and getting low & deep with my squats. Here are a couple of pics taken of the event (pics are from the Nike Training Club Facebook page):
