It’s
been a busy few weekends for me, catching up with friends and family,
celebrating birthdays and weddings……
I
recently got the chance to have a late dinner at the Duck & Waffle,
situated on the 40th floor of the Heron Tower in the City of London.
The
night was supposed to be spent celebrating a friend’s birthday in Shoreditch,
but circumstance led me and a few of my friends to celebrate this guy’s
birthday another way……
Our group ordered from the Late Night Menu. I had the wild Cornish pollock meatballs, which were very tasty; however I think my selection should have included an accompaniment. Other orders on the table included the Carlingford rock oysters, smoked Scottish salmon, duck egg en cocotte and Colombian eggs.

I also got to eat oysters for the first time after a bit of persuading. Verdict? Quite nice actually (especially with the tabasco sauce)!

And just in case you're wondering the birthday boy was not there....he was left celebrating in Shoreditch(!)
