Love for London

The UK had barely begun to grieve for the 22 people who lost their lives in Manchester on 22 May 2017, when on 5 June 2017 another terror attack took place, this time in London (for the 2nd time this year), my home city. At the time of writing, at least 7 people have lost their lives, with several injured; the suspects eliminated.

There are evil humans who are determined to spread terror and hate and destroy innocent lives. Each attack slightly erodes on the defiant "keep calm and carry on" attitude; each attack reminds us that we cannot afford to slack on extremism and intolerance on both sides. My thoughts and prayers are with those victims, their families and loved ones. I can only hope that they will eventually find peace.

London is a resilient old bitch, her people are compassionate, kind and strong. The emergency services have been stellar in their response to the attack. Londoners have offered their homes, free rides and even ran to safety with a pint in their hand

My Love for London remains strong; she's expensive and dirty at times, but she's accepting of all, she's diverse and vibrant. These attacks are heartbreaking, but London will strive to overcome. x
